Public Input Sought for New Voting Equipment in Shawnee County

Shawnee County Election Commissioner Andrew Howell would like to announce that Shawnee County is seeking public input on new voting equipment.  His office has scheduled five public input meetings.  All meetings will be held at the Shawnee County Election Office at 3420 SW Van Buren Street. 

If anyone cannot attend any of the meetings, they may also provide input by sending an email to the Shawnee County Election Office at:; send their comments via the Election Office web site at; mail their comments to the Election Office; or drop off them off at the Shawnee County Election Office.

The purpose of the meetings is to receive input from the community on features, functions & capabilities desired of/from the new voting equipment system for Shawnee County.

The four largest Kansas Counties (in terms of population), Johnson, Sedgwick, Shawnee and Wyandotte, issued a joint Request for Proposals (RFP) for new voting equipment.  The counties are in the process of reviewing and evaluating vendor proposals.
