From the Topeka Metro, April 2016
To celebrate Older Americans Month in May, Topeka Metro is once again offering free rides for Topekans age 65 and older. The Seniors Ride Free promotion applies to all fixed bus routes and no vouchers or tickets are required. Passengers may be asked to show their I.D. when boarding the bus.
“Because many seniors regularly purchase monthly bus passes, we wanted to get the word out now about the senior free ride promotion for May,” said Susan Duffy, Topeka Metro general manager. Topeka seniors should also plan to take advantage of the extra forty minutes at the end of the day to run errands, shop, and catch a bite to eat.”
Beginning April 25, Topeka Metro will also run weekday routes later in the evening to 7:20 p.m.
